Сравнительная и превосходная степень в английском | Правила, ошибки, тест

В английском есть два способа сравнивать:

👉 сравниваем 2 вещи → используем сравнительную степень
👉 выбираем самый-самый → используем превосходную степень

Tom is taller than Mike
Tom is the tallest in the group

💡 Сравнение — это всегда про разницу:

better / worse
faster / slower
bigger / smaller

Пример из жизни:

This lesson is easier than the previous one
This is the easiest lesson

Выбери правильный вариант:

1) Tom is ___ than Mike
(tall / taller / the tallest)

2) This is ___ movie I’ve ever seen
(better / the best / more good)

3) Today is ___ than yesterday
(hotter / hottest / the hottest)

4) This car is ___ than mine
(fast / faster / the fastest)

5) She is the ___ student in the class
(smart / smarter / smartest)

В английском обычно есть 3 основных способа образовать сравнение:

🟣 Короткие слова

Обычно добавляем -er и -est .

tall → taller → the tallest

fast → faster → the fastest

small → smaller → the smallest

🔵 Длинные слова

Обычно используем more и the most .

beautiful → more beautiful → the most beautiful

interesting → more interesting → the most interesting

❌ beautifuller не говорим

🟢 Исключения

Их нужно просто запомнить.

good → better → the best

bad → worse → the worst

far → farther / further

💡 Полезная логика:
короткое слово → чаще -er
длинное слово → чаще more

Но есть ещё несколько важных изменений в написании:

big → bigger (удваиваем согласную)
hot → hotter
happy → happier (y → i)
easy → easier

То есть мы не просто добавляем окончание механически — иногда слово немного меняется.

Выбери правильный вариант:

1) small → ___
(smaller / more small / smallest)

2) beautiful → ___
(beautifuller / more beautiful / beautifulest)

3) good → ___
(gooder / better / more good)

4) happy → ___
(happyer / happier / more happy)

5) big → ___

На первый взгляд кажется, что это одно и то же, но на самом деле:

more — универсальное «больше»

more time

more people

more interesting

much — только с неисчисляемыми

much time

much money

❌ much people

💡 Запомни:
more можно почти везде
much — только с тем, что нельзя посчитать

Но самое важное — это усилители сравнений 👇

a lot cheaper

🔥 Это звучит как настоящий английский
👉 не просто better, а much better

Сравни:

This book is much better

Выбери правильный вариант:

1) I need ___ time

Когда мы сравниваем две вещи, почти всегда используем than .

She is taller than me

This book is more interesting than the previous one

💡 Важно понимать:

Сравнение без than часто звучит незавершённо

👉 (лучше чего??)

👉 Всегда задавай себе вопрос:
с чем мы сравниваем?

💡 Важно:

почти всегда используем the

-est (короткие слова)

smallest

fastest

the most (длинные слова)

the most beautiful

the most expensive

Часто используется с:

in → in the world
of → of all my friends

В сравнительной и превосходной степени есть ошибки, которые встречаются особенно часто.

💡 Главная идея:
нельзя делать двойное сравнение .
Если слово уже стоит в сравнительной или превосходной степени, добавлять ещё один маркер сравнения не нужно.

💡 Ещё один важный момент:
фраза This is better сама по себе может быть нормальной , если из контекста уже понятно, с чем идёт сравнение.
Но если ты только учишься, полезно всегда спрашивать себя:
better than what?

🇺🇸 В разговорной речи, особенно в американском английском, иногда можно услышать формы вроде:
more smart
more simple
more quiet

Это встречается в неформальной речи, потому что язык упрощается.
Но это не считается стандартной нормой .
В нейтральном и грамотном английском лучше говорить:
smarter , simpler , quieter .

Если база уже понятна, можно сделать речь намного естественнее с помощью ещё трёх конструкций:

even / much / far

even better

far more interesting

as ... as

as tall as

as good as

not as easy as

less / the least

less expensive

less interesting

the least useful

💡 Эти конструкции помогают не звучать однообразно.
Ты уже не просто говоришь better или more beautiful , а строишь более гибкую и живую речь.

This option is less practical than the other one
That was the least useful part of the lesson
